Hi friends!
We’re pretty big fans of books. We’re even bigger fans of FREE books. We also like Fridays. And since we don’t have anything against alliteration either, we thought: “Say, why don’t we institute Free Book Fridays?”
And then, since one-sided conversations are boring and because if there isn’t a hashtag, it isn’t a thing, we replied, “Make it #FreeBookFridays, and you’ve got yourself a deal.”
Then we shook hands with ourself rather awkwardly. Which made us contemplate other awkward friendships, and suddenly we knew the perfect book for our very first #FreeBookFriday.
With droll humor and fresh illustrations, Alex Latimer—author/illustrator of The Boy Who Cried Ninja and Lion vs. Rabbit—spins a delightfully quirky yarn about making friends and embracing differences in PIG AND SMALL.

Looks great!
I like books and free books and Fridays and hashtags, too! Plus your post made me laugh. That's why I should win.
Free the pigs! Wait – I mean, free the books! Thanks Peachtree.
Such a catchy title that already has me hooked! ~Suzy Leopold
Because I'm THE Penniless Teacher at http://www.PennilessTeacher.com 🙂 and I'm sharing with all Penniless Teacher readers.
I'd like to give this to our school library, so our teachers can use it as a resource when teaching the concept that it's cool we are all different.
I would love to win because I enjoy reading books to my son. It sounds like a wonderful book to share at story time at my son's school.
I would love to win this and read it to my 4th graders! I have a very diverse school, and any chance to talk about differences positively is a plus! courtmschaffer@gmail.com
I deserve to win because I teach kindergarteners to read and would love a free book to build my classroom library to offset the money I pay to buy books for my classroom. Thanks!

As a kindergarten teacher, I have built a classroom library that surpasses our school library. Whenever anyone is looking for a book, they come to me before they go to our media specialist. I send a book home each week for my kinder-bears to read with their families because, as a rule, school library books don't go home with kindergarten children. I would love to win Pig and Small because it IS a difficult concept for my littles to understand, and because I love to hear them giggle as they become part of a book.
I use lots of books with my elementary art students as "Art Starters" to give them ideas to create on a theme.
As a new kindergarten teacher, I am trying to build my classroom library with quality children's literature so my kinder-bears have plenty of options to choose from. I want my little ones to enjoy reading as much as I do, and Pig and Small is the perfect book to get them excited about reading. I would love to win this book so that my Blue Bears can hear it read, and "read" it themselves.
I deserve to win because I have grandchildren who would love this. 🙂
I think this would be a great addition to the classroom to promote acceptance of others. I love books!
I would LOVE to win this book! My kids practically eat up books, they love to read so much! I am a homeschooling mama of 5 kiddos – 3 are readers and 2 are in-training! 🙂
I don't know as I deserve to win, but I do know our school students would absolutely love this book
