Contest runs through Friday, March 2, 2007 (Read Across America Day). The winning project will be announced on March 20, 2007 and will be featured on the Peachtree Publishers website.

All entries will be automatically submitted for a drawing to win other fabulous prizes, including a personalized copy of the book Jake's 100th Day of School. Entries may also be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Jake's 100th Day of School Teacher's Guide. This publication will be jam-packed with activities and projects that teachers can use in their classrooms to celebrate the 100th Day of School!

First place: Grand Prize (1 winner)
The school will win an all-expenses-paid school visit with children's author Lester L. Laminack. The winning teacher will receive a camera to use with his/her class and a personalized copy of Jake's 100th Day of School.

Second place (3 winners)
Three winners will get a personalized copy of Jake's 100th Day of School

No purchase necessary to enter or win. Subject to Official Rules. The contest is open to all teachers and librarians employed by any accredited public or private school system in the continental United States. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (EST) March 2, 2007. Details, qualifications, and conditions for participation may apply. Void where prohibited.

How to Enter: The 100th Day of School contest winner will be announced on the Peachtree Publishers' website (www.peachtree-online.com) on March 20, 2007 by 12 noon (EST). Participants may enter the Contest by emailing a description of their favorite 100th Day of School project and a picture (in jpeg format) of the finished piece to hello@peachtree-online.com.

Official Submission Guidelines


All entries should include:

  • Contest name in the subject line (Jake's 100th Day of School Contest)
  • Teacher's/Librarian's name and e-mail address
  • School's name, address, and telephone number

All activity descriptions should have the following:

  • Grade level/subject area
  • Title of activity (five words or less)
  • Age appropriate (be fun and creative)
  • Written as a clear, concise, step-by-step description of a 100th Day activity (100 words or less)
  • List of all materials needed to do the activity
  • One picture (in jpeg format) of the final project

Any error or omission in the information in the email will void the entry. Limit one entry per person. By participating, all entrants agree to abide by the Official Rules.

Entry Deadlines: All online entries for the contest must be submitted on or before midnight of March 2, 2007.

Winner Selection and Notification: The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received. All entries are the property of Peachtree Publishers. Entries may be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Jake's 100th Day of School Teachers Guide. The decisions of Peachtree Publishers are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Winners will be notified by email and/or phone call. If a winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been made, an alternate winner may be selected. Winners will be selected from all eligible entries received. Winner will be required to sign a release to use their name and school's name before claiming a prize.

Prizes: The teacher who submits the winning project will receive an all-expenses paid author visit with Lester Laminack for his/her school.* The winning teacher will receive a camera to use with his/her class and a personalized copy of Jake's 100th Day of School. Other winners will receive a personalized or signed copy of a book by author Lester Laminack. All winners must claim prizes within 30 days of notification.

*Author visit must be scheduled after March 20, 2007 and before August 20, 2007.

General Conditions: Prizes are non-transferable. Return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable will result in a disqualification of the winner and an alternate winner may be selected. All prizes will be awarded. Except where legally prohibited, acceptance of any prize constitutes permission for Peachtree Publishers to use each winner's name, photograph, address (city and state) and testimonials, in printed, broadcast or other media, whether now known or hereafter developed.

Rules/Winners List: A list of winner's names will be posted on Peachtree Publishers' website by noon of March 20, 2007. The Grand Prize winner's project will be highlighted with a photo and description of the activity.
