Earlier in March, Matt Faulkner and his wife visited a school in Mexico, the Instituto Gardner on Cozumel Island. Matt said that the school was wonderful, with “a very dynamic program filled with lots of love of learning through creativity,” and that the children were thrilled with their new copies of Trick or Treat on Monster Street and The Monster Who Ate My Peas. Here are some photos of Matt signing books with the students.

The first time I read, The Monster Who Ate My Peas, I fell in love with it. I don't know who enjoyed this book more, me or my early learners. I could not believe the giggles during my reading. Additionally, the interruptions of what they thought would occur next, and of giving their opinions on the characters' motivation for their actions was so fun to witness. I wish I had recorded this session. I wish I still had this book. I think I'll buy it and introduce it to a whole new group of early learners! Thanks for reminding me about this TREAT of a book!
