FOUNDED MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS AGO in Atlanta, we're one of the original independent Southern book publishers. We publish many types of books, but our focus is on titles for children and teenagers, self-help topics, parenting issues, health-related works, and books about the South. Our books are thoughtfully and lovingly designed and illustrated, and tell stories that are powerful, moving, and affecting.

Double Eagle

When Mike’s summer plans suddenly change, he finds himself on Shipwreck Island, the site where a Confederate ship called the Skink sunk over a century ago. Mike and his new friend Kyle are fascinated by the salvage ship, which was rumored to be carrying newly minted gold coins, although no one could ever find it. As they explore a section that is closed off to the public, they find something special: an old double-eagle gold coin. They agree to keep their discovery a secret and begin their own investigation into the shipwreck and the missing treasure.
